Damien
I've spent two decades in advertising, marketing and consulting. I've also travelled the world, from Greece to Guatemala and Romania to the Red Sea.
Which means I know a lot about both the guest experience, and the business of hotel bookings. My eureka moment was a project for Tourism NZ helping 150 businesses rethink their digital marketing. Every day I was helping owners and GMs, giving them quick wins and a plan. I loved the journey it took me on to become the go-to guy for boutique hotels.
During the 15 years I spent in the world’s top advertising agencies, I clocked up a lot of career wins. My years working with Air New Zealand included creating Grabaseat and being the first to break $1M per day in direct bookings for them.
I spent seven years in London, with highlights including: launching the Range Rover Evoque; shooting ads with Ridley Scott’s film crew in Barcelona; working on the 2012 Olympics campaign for British Airways.

Marie
Storytelling is my passion. From a decade in editorial to another in advertising and marketing, I've always loved using language to connect and engage.
I get a kick out of distilling a brand to its essence, and working out how to get this key message out to the right audience with maximum impact. I love the buzz of creating engaging content. I can't get enough of the craft of wordsmithing.
My adventures in storytelling have taken me far and wide. From NZ interiors and architecture magazines to international travel magazines and guides. From top London agency LIDA, and IKEA, to iconic NZ clothing brand Icebreaker. And on to the world of boutique hotel experiences. The journey continues...
Career highlights have included: helping to get 80+ Wallpaper City Guides to production; creating an award-winning 360-degree video for IKEA (when 360 video was only just becoming 'a thing'); pioneering a content strategy for IKEA UK's loyalty programme; staying with a beautiful Tuscan noble family to profile their amazing carbon-neutral winery; and challenging the status quo to help evolve Icebreaker clothing through its tone of voice.
